The Monday Buzz: Adele Gets a Grammy Ovation and More

by | February 13, 2012 at 9:30 AM | 60 Minutes, Grammys, Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show

Despite the sadness that hung over the Grammys Sunday night after the untimely death of Whitney Houston, there were still a number of high points during last night’s show, including great performances from legends like Paul McCartney, The Beach Boys and Glen Campbell. But there was no doubt that it was Adele‘s night.

Not only did she sweep all the major awards, but she performed live for the first time since she had vocal surgery last year. She knocked it out of the park with her performance of the megahit “Rolling in the Deep,” and she earned what she might treasure more than the six Grammys she got last night: a long standing ovation from the 20,000 people at the Staples Center.
