When “Community” comes back — and the NBC brass do promise that it’s “when,” not “if” — there’s at least one thing we know for certain will happen: one of the regulars on the show will meet his demise. That’s what Joel McHale told TV Guide, and considering he’s the star of the show, he’s a pretty darn good source.

While McHale says it won’t be any of the show’s stars, it will be “someone you’ve seen a lot. And he dies in the mid-afternoon.”

So we know it’s a he. Our guess? Everyone’s favorite crotchety senior citizen student Leonard (Richard Erdman). He’s the only one who makes sense. Starburns (Dino Stamatopoulos) would be missed, especially by the stovepipe-hat-wearing contingent. And we’d miss Magnitude (Luke Youngblood) and his “pop pop!” too much to think about him meeting his maker. Perhaps the study group’s pet monkey, Annie’s Boobs, will never make it out of the school’s HVAC system.

But our money’s on Leonard, though we’ll miss his reviews of whatever frozen pizza he ate that day.
