The Monday Buzz: Christina Aguilera’s Faulty Memory and More

On last night’s big post-Super Bowl season premiere of “The Voice”, Tony Lucca was the last to take the stage, and he sung a fantastically soulful rendition of “Trouble” by Ray LaMontagne. He told Carson Daly that he wasn’t sure that judge Christina Aguilera was going to recognize him from their days when they were on “The Mickey Mouse Club” together.

Sure enough, after all four judges turned their chairs — Tony ultimately chose to be on Adam Levine’s team — Xtina spoke to him as if he was any other contestant, with no look of recognition on her face. Then Lucca says his name and… nothing.

It was only after he walked off-stage that “suddenly” Aguilera realized who he was. Not sure if she was reminded by a producer or she came to the realization on her own. But eventually there was a reunion, which seemed a touch less sincere than it would have five minutes earlier.
