’30 Rock’: Ryan Adams, Cee Lo, Childish Gambino Sing NBC Theme Songs

Yesterday, the good folks at NBC put out a very funny edition of the “30 Rock” web series “The Donaghy Files”, where Jack (Alec Baldwin) looks for an emergency replacement for the Super Bowl halftime show when Madonna drops out. He brings in Ryan Adams, Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers, and Childish Gambino (Donald Glover of “Community”) to vie for the honor. One problem: since Madonna blew the budget, the only songs NBC can afford to broadcast are theme songs to their old shows.

Above and below, you’ll see their full performances: McDonald sang the theme to “Saved By The Bell,” Adams does a haunting version to the theme from “Passions”, and Glover raps over the “Knight Rider” theme. Finally, we see Cee Lo Green of “The Voice” singing the theme to “BJ and the Bear.” Why? Synergy, of course.
