There’s a good chance that yet another star who’s more known for movies will end up starring in a TV series. Only this time around, this star hasn’t been shy about appearing on the small screen in the past. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Kevin Bacon will be starring in a new FOX pilot, written and produced by Kevin Williamson (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Dawson’s Creek”).

Bacon will be playing an FBI agent who is in the middle of a cult of serial killers, which was created by a diabolical killer who manipulates his charges via various high-tech means. Bacon has only committed to 15 episodes if the pilot gets picked up as a series, according to THR; the season may still go the full 22 if it gets the green light, though.

Even though Bacon has been primarily a movie actor for most of his career, he’s done enough TV projects lately to make this move a natural one. His best known TV foray was his Golden Globe-winning performance in HBO’s “Taking Chance” three years ago. Then, of course, there was the Logitech/Google TV ad he did where he played Kevin Bacon’s biggest — and creepiest — fan. Besides, with his wife Kyra Sedgwick winding down her time on “The Closer,” someone needs to keep the regular paychecks rolling in.
