Ferris Bueller to Return in Super Bowl Ad

For all of you out there who have been clamoring for a sequel to “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” this may be as close as you get. A ten-second teaser has been released on the interwebs of a middle-aged Ferris — played, of course, by Matthew Broderick — opening the drapes and saying it’s too nice a day to work.

The ad will appear during the Super Bowl. No word on what product Broderick-as-Ferris is endorsing. Our guess? It looks like he’s in a hotel room, wearing a hotel robe. Maybe he’s promoting some sort of resort, or just a very nice hotel that allows you to play hooky from work, even when you’re on a business trip. Either way, even Giants and Patriots fans will be waiting to see this ad, because pretty much anyone over 35 wants to see middle-aged Ferris.

UPDATE: According to Jalopnik, the ad will be for Honda, where Ferris goes through his day in a CR-V instead of the vintage Ferrari he “borrowed” from Cameron’s dad. Oh, well. Guess we weren’t even close with our guess.
