Martha Stewart’s television empire finally met its match, and her name is Osmond… Marie Osmond.
A report from the New York Post states that Hallmark Channel is in advanced negotiations to replace one-time network staple “The Martha Stewart Show” with a new daily series that will be fronted by Marie.
Of course, “The Martha Stewart Show” was only one of the series operating under the Martha Stewart brand on Hallmark. The channel is still running other shows such as “Martha Bakes” and “Emeril,” which are produced by Stewart’s company, although the report states that Martha’s company is still figuring out the future of those series with Hallmark.
“While we’re still in discussions with Marie, we’re extremely excited about the prospect of Marie Osmond joining the Hallmark family,” a Hallmark spokeswoman told the newspaper. “We think she’s perfect for our brand and we’ll share more news when we have a deal.”
After scoring with fans for her turn on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” Osmond’s new series “Marie” will bring the lifelong star back to the small screen. Assuming the deal gets done, the series will reportedly feature cooking segments and celebrity chats debut in September.
