Watch: Joan Rivers on ‘Fallon’: Shocking, Profane, Hilarious

Joan Rivers’ appearance on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” was the highlight of late-night television on Friday evening.
The thing about Joan: When she comes on a talk show, she brings it. She’s an old-school entertainer who wouldn’t think of coming on a television show without a brain full of material to uncork, complete with occasional bursts of bleeped-out profanity that are the hallmark of a comedian who, generally speaking, is for adults only.
In the first part of her appearance with Jimmy Fallon, she told him she’s constantly pitching ideas for new TV shows.
“I pitched ‘The Price is Right’ revival with Winona Ryder – turned down flat!” Joan said, referring to Ryder’s arrest so many years ago for shoplifting.
Another TV-show idea Joan said she thought of: “‘Wife Swap’ with Newt Gingrich – and that was a year ago!”
Then, her idea for a reality series pitting the Kardashians vs. the Olsen twins on a desert island really took top prize. And then what Joan said about the late Princess Diana — oh, brother!
Joan came on “Late Night” to promote next week’s second-season premiere of her WE reality series “Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best” (Jan. 24 at 9/8c on WE). So, daughter Melissa joined her on-stage to talk to Jimmy about what the second season has in store.
