Here we go again. It seems like the outcry over the non-resolution of the Rosie Larsen murder mystery in the first season finale of “The Killing” has not moved the show’s executive producer, Veena Sud, to quicken the show’s pace. Even though she had mentioned after season one that we’d hear about Rosie’s killer sometime during the second season, she has gone back on that word and revealed to Written By magazine that Rosie’s killer will not be revealed until the end of the second season.

Yes, that sound you hear is the show’s fans banging their heads against the wall.

Granted, the comments on the interwebs after the show’s baffling finale — which came after a slow-moving and baffling season — got ugly, with the magazine reporting that some comments even called Sud a Muslim, which she isn’t.

“Our intent was not to mislead or betray,” she told the magazine, even though AMC promoted the show with more than a strong implication that the audience would find out who killed Rosie by the end of the season. “We talked about the fans, and their passion, and all of the stuff that was being said in the Internet. But the bottom line is we close the door and we’re a bunch of people in the room, and our job was — and continues to be — to tell the story that feels right by us.”

She tells the magazine that she wants to story to go at the pace real life does, and she doesn’t read the internet criticism anymore. “This is not a committee thing,” she said.

“The Killing” was scheduled to have a panel at the Television Critics Association press tour, where this revelation would have probably made the “2 Broke Girls” session look like a tea party by comparison, but it got cancelled. Of course, the schedule change may be for legitimate production reasons, even though the show doesn’t start shooting until the spring, as the article says. But it could also just as easily be the fact that they didn’t want to subject Sud to the wrath of an annoyed, tired and over-caffeinated and group of critics. Either way, at the very least, fans of the show now know where the Rosie mystery stands.
