Fresh off announcing that Kathy Griffin is set to launch a talk show on Bravo, Jenny McCarthy is now in discussions to chat up another talk series for the channel as well.
The New York Post reports that McCarthy is in talks with the channel, and actually made a “secret pilot” for the network over the summer at the same NBC-owned studios in Stamford, Conn. where “Jerry Springer” and “Maury” are also taped each week. While there had been some chatter around the industry over the fall that McCarthy was looking for a potential syndication series, it now appears that she may join a Bravo lineup that seems to be rapidly expanding.
In addition to a family of “Real Housewives” series, “Top Chef” and its spinoffs, and other reality fare, Bravo recently announced that Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live” would expand from two to five nights a week. The channel announced over the weekend that Kathy Griffin is in line to host her own weekly talk show that would launch early this year.
According to the article, McCarthy’s talk show pilot had a similar feel to Chelsea Handler’s nightly “Chelsea Lately” series on E!.
“Next year you will see something,” McCarthy told the Hollywood Reporter recently. “I can’t say what, but it is already signed, sealed, delivered.”
