Watch: ‘Portlandia’ Star Carrie Brownstein Rocks on ‘Fallon’

by | January 8, 2012 at 10:18 AM | Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, TV News

Carrie Brownstein co-stars with Fred Armisen in the satirical IFC series “Portlandia” (Friday nights at 10/9c), but she’s better known to many as an icon of indie rock.

Her former band was Sleater-Kinney, but now she’s performing with her newest band, the all-female Wild Flag. With Carrie and her bandmates in New York this past week to celebrate the second-season premiere of “Portlandia” with a big party thrown by IFC Thursday night at New York’s Museum of Natural History, there was apparently time on the schedule for Wild Flag to stop by “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on Friday to perform a song, “Short Version.”

Watch Carrie Brownstein and Wild Flag on “Fallon” here, 38 minutes in:

Also appearing on the show: David Duchovny and Judah Friedlander.
