PASADENA, Calif. — MSNBC’s top executive says he hasn’t decided whether conservative commentator Pat Buchanan will be allowed back on the network.

Buchanan is a paid contributor to MSNBC but hasn’t been on the air since October, following the publication of his book “Suicide of a Superpower.” MSNBC President Phil Griffin said Saturday that he didn’t think the book’s content should be part of the national dialogue, much less discussed on MSNBC.

Buchanan’s book has chapters titled “The End of White America” and “The Death of Christian America.” He argues that the United States is in the “Indian summer of our civilization.”
