NBC Entertainment President Bob Greenblatt announced during his session with the nation’s TV critics this morning that the critically-acclaimed but little-watched “Community” will be back… he just doesn’t know when.

He did admit that he wasn’t specific enough about the show when it was left off the midseason schedule. “I failed to explicity say that it will be back. There are may fans of the show in the room today and I want you to keep writing about it.”

It may be difficult to find a timeslot for the show, given all the comedies they’ll have coming out in midseason, and Greenblatt doesn’t envision the show leading off a night anymore, but they do want to find a spot for it. They’ll decide whether it comes back for a fourth season closer to the network’s upfront presentation to advertisers in May.
