More guest host names for “Live! With Kelly” are rolling in and, out of the upcoming names that have been revealed, the only one that even comes close to being a possible preview of what is to come will happen on Monday, Jan. 2, when Kelly Ripa‘s husband, Mark Consuelos, joins her at the host desk.
The rest of the names look great on paper, and will do a great job as co-host-for-a-day-or-so, but have no chance of being permanent choices: Jim Parsons on Jan. 3, David Duchovny on Jan. 4 and Rob Lowe on Jan. 5 and 6, according to TV Guide.
Why do those three gentlemen not have a chance? Because they all already have jobs, silly. Well, Consuelos does, too; he’s currently in the play “Standing on Ceremony.” But that gig is temporary, while the other three guys are on TV series already. Besides, Consuelos seems to be the most natural person to co-host the show, given the fact that he’s done so many times and his off-screen chemistry with Ripa translates very well in the talk show environment. Why don’t they just give it to Mark and end this host carousel sooner rather than later?
