Sam Jones III of ‘Smallville’ and ‘ER’ Starts Federal Prison Term

Sam Jones III is one of those “that guy” actors who you likely don’t know by name but have probably seen on a bunch of TV shows and movies. Unfortunately for Jones, viewers won’t be seeing him for awhile, as he’s just started a one year term in federal prison, according to TMZ.

Jones is probably most recognized for two roles: Pete Ross, the childhood friend of Clark (Tom Welling) and Chloe (Allison Mack), on “Smallville,” and Chaz Pratt, the wayward little brother of Dr. Greg Pratt (Mekhi Phifer) on “ER.” When he pled guilty to charges that he conspired to distribute 10,000 Oxycodone pills, he had been working on the cable show “Blue Mountain State.”

Hopefully, after he gets out of prison, he can get back to work and forget about what went on in his past. Fans will be able to see him in another project while he serves his prison term though: he has a role in the movie “Piranha 3DD.”
