On “The View” yesterday, Whoopi Goldberg gave her view of the continuing saga of Alec Baldwin vs. American Airlines in no uncertain terms: “Put the phone down!” Basically, her thinking is that there are rules to flying, and the more people who follow those rules, the easier it is for everyone else.

It’s kind of a surprising view from the Whoopster, considering some of those rules don’t make a heck of a lot of sense. But in a way, she’s right: if we saw her co-host, Sherri Shepherd, talking to her kid on the phone when a flight attendant told her to stop, as Shepherd described in the clip, we’d have the same reaction Whoopi had.
