We realize Hoda Kotb’s name isn’t the easiest to remember (or pronounce), but Jane Fonda completely spaced on it in a conversation with Jimmy Kimmel.
Fonda, 73, appeared for the first time on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Wednesday night and the two talked about a number of subjects, including fly-fishing, Fonda’s former husbands, and the two workout DVDs the movie star-turned exercise maven has out now.
Jimmy displayed the DVD boxes, but he also happened to have on-hand an original VHS cassette of one of Fonda’s iconic exercise tapes from the 1980s. On the famous box, Fonda is seen in a blue and red striped shirt sitting on a gym floor.
So Jimmy asked her if she still owns that outfit. Jane said yes and, as a matter of fact, she wore the old outfit recently on NBC’s “Today” show. When she told Jimmy about her “Today” show appearance, she seemed to forget Hoda’s name.
“Yeah, I found it in storage the other day,” she said of the outfit, “and I worked out with Kathie Lee Gifford and ‘another woman’ on the ‘Today’ show the other day!”
The “other woman” happened to be Hoda — whose name is pronounced “HO-da KAHT-bee.”
