Former “SNL” star Maya Rudolph made a surprise appearance and cast regular Vanessa Bayer turned in one of her smash Miley Cyrus impressions in a sketch that emerged as our favorite on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend on NBC.

Rudolph — now seen in the NBC sitcom “Up All Night” with Will Arnett and Christina Applegate — came on stage playing Whitney Houston, who arrived on “The Miley Cyrus Show” at the behest of dad Billy Ray Cyrus (Jason Sudeikis) to warn Miley about the dangers of drugs. Guest-host Steve Buscemi was also in the bit.

The sketch spoofed the story that was widely reported last week about Miley’s 19th birthday party, in which friends presented her with a Bob Marley cake and she seemed to admit incautiously that she’s a “stoner.”

Ya gotta see this: Watch Vanessa Bayer impersonate Miley Cyrus right here:

Meanwhile, in the show’s “digital short” seen Saturday night, Batman bedevils the police commissioner of Gotham City (Buscemi) by suddenly materializing at embarrassing moments to warn the commissioner that another supervillain is threatening the city. (We think that was Andy Samberg under the Batman cowl.) And, frankly, the Commish is sick of hearing about it.

Can you blame him? Watch what happens right here:

“SNL” poked fun at another show on NBC — “Dateline” — in a sketch that had Bill Hader playing murder reporter Keith Morrison. The sketch was well-done, but if you’re unfamiliar with Morrison’s work on “Dateline” (though how could you be? Morrison’s been around for something like 20 years), you might not get it.

We think you should give this one a try anyway: Watch it here:
