NBC must really love freshman comedy “Up All Night.” How do we know? Not only have they decided to move the comedy to their Thursday comedy block, but they’ve decided to order two more episodes of the series, according to Deadline.

This brings the show’s first season order to 24 episodes; the standard full season for most shows is 22. But every move the Peacock Net has made with regards to this show has demonstrated a level of confidence that they haven’t shown with other comedies this year (as most “Community” fans will tell you, quite loudly, while wearing fake evil twin goatees).

As the Deadline piece points out, a show doesn’t usually go beyond the usual 22 episodes unless the network thinks it’ll be one of its highest-rated shows. While “Up” isn’t exactly pulling blockbuster numbers, in the world of NBC, its steady performance on Wednesdays has the network hoping that it’ll do well in the Thursday lineup after “The Office.”
