UPDATED: Kim Kardashian and sisters Kourtney and Khloe have canceled an upcoming scheduled appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” The guest shot was supposed to be on Nov. 28 — a tidbit announced by their mother, Kris Jenner, on the Leno show last week. Kris wasn’t lying — at the time, the three sibs were on the guest list for the 28th, as NBC confirmed for us. However, NBC updated us late Friday: The three are no longer booked. No reason was given, but we assume it has something to do with the turmoil in Kim’s private life. The appearance would have come the night after the season premiere of “Kourtney and Kim Take New York,” which is still scheduled to start on Sunday, Nov. 27, on E!.
PREVIOUSLY: Kardashian family matriarch Kris Jenner let slip a vital piece of news about her daughter, Kim, in an interview with Jay Leno on NBC’s “Tonight Show” Tuesday night.
The tidbit, according to her mom: Kim’s due to appear on “The Tonight Show” soon. The news came out during a portion of the interview in which Jay was asking Kris questions about how Kim is coping with the collapse of her marriage to Kris Humphries after 72 days and one high-rated TV special on E!.
Specifically, Jay asked Kris about the rumors running around lately that Kim and Kris (yes, Kim’s soon-to-be ex-husband has the same first name as her mother) might reconcile.
Mom Kris politely demurred on that question. “I know she’s going to be here in a week or two – you can ask her then!” she told Jay. Jay didn’t act surprised, which indicated to us he may already know Kim is on the guest list for a “Tonight Show” in the near future.
No such announcement had been made by NBC, but we got a confirmation from NBC on Wednesday morning: Kim’s scheduled for Nov. 28, along with sisters Kourtney and Khloe.
Certainly, booking Kim is a coup for “The Tonight Show,” especially if the appearance turns out to be Kim’s first interview since she filed for divorce last month.
Meanwhile, mama Kris also weighed in on Kristen Wiig’s portrayal of her last weekend on “Saturday Night Live” in a sketch brought on by the news earlier in the week that Kim was ending her marriage.
“You know what I thought? It was incredibly funny and I thought she – Kristen Wiig – got me spot-on,” she said. “And, as I said a couple days ago, I just want to know where she got those earrings because I love them!”
With her own “review” of the “SNL” sketch, Kris joins daughters Kourtney and Khloe who have already aired their reactions to it on Twitter. “I peed!” raved Kourtney in a very personal tweet (or so it seemed to us) on Sunday. Tweeted Khloe, “Ha! I just saw the SNL skit they did and I could not stop laughing.”
Kris Jenner also talked about her new book – “Kris Jenner . . . and All Things Kardashian” – and her memories of O.J. Simpson, who was once a close family friend.
Jay also urged her to do “Dancing With the Stars,” like her son, Rob, who’s currently competing on the ABC series.
