This had to be the most adorable appearance on a late-night show all year.
It was on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Thursday night and the guests were two little boys — brothers — from Long Island: Jake, 3, and C.J., 7 (Jimmy didn’t announce their last names).
They came to California to appear on the “Kimmel” show because of their starring “performances” in a “Kimmel” video that has been viewed more than 18 million times on Youtube.
It’s the sensational Halloween video that Jimmy first presented last week in which parents videotaped the reactions of their young children after they — the parents — informed their kids that, while they were sleeping on Halloween night, mom and dad had eaten all of their Halloween candy.
Most of the kids seen in the four-minute video wept or threw tantrums that were so harrowing, it made you wonder if this parental practical joke had gone too far. But C.J. and Jake stole the show, not by throwing tantrums, but by expressing their dismay and disappointment kind of in the manner of little grownups.
As a result, Jimmy invited them on the show. Among other things, he suggested they play a joke on their mother — by hiding her car keys. “You know what’s a funny place to put them? The toilet!” Jimmy advised the boys, who laughed (and, from the looks of it, will probably take Jimmy’s advice!).
Jimmy also asked them why they thought people who saw the video liked them so much. To which C.J. hypothesized: “Because we were well-behaved.”
That they were. And in return, Jimmy rewarded them with go-carts and a trip to Disneyland.
