“It’s crazy…”

Justin Bieber has denied allegations that he fathered a child with a 19-year-old woman in a backstage bathroom, and he appeared on the “Today” show to further refute the claims (and promote his new album).

“To set the record straight, none of it is true,” the teen sensation said to Matt Lauer as a mob of fans screamed behind him in Rockefeller Plaza Friday during the brief appearance.

“I know I’m going to be a target, but I’m never going to be a victim,” Bieber said, adding, “It’s crazy, because every night after the show I’ve gone right from the stage right to my car. So it’s crazy that some people want to make up such false allegations.”

Mariah Yeater filed a paternity suit this week in San Diego Superior Court, claiming she had a brief sexual encounter with Bieber last fall after his concert at the L.A. Staples Center and that he’s the father of the baby boy she gave birth to in July. She’s asking for child support and a paternity test. A hearing is scheduled for Dec. 15.

“I never met the woman,” Bieber replied when Lauer asked if Bieber knew Yeater, who could be investigated for having sex with a minor (at the time of the alleged encounter, she was 19, he was 16).

Camp Bieber first denied Yeater’s claims earlier this week in a statement:

“While we haven’t yet seen the lawsuit, it’s sad that someone would fabricate, malicious, defamatory and demonstrably false claims. We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations.”

Bieber is releasing a Christmas album and will return to “Today” for a live music performance on Nov. 23.
