A new boss is “Breaking In” to Christian Slater’s Fox comedy.
Megan Mullally is joining the cast of the currently on-hiatus sitcom as a regular cast member, Fox announced Friday.
The former “Will & Grace” star will take over as boss of Contra Security, after a corporate conglomerate takes control of the company. The firm’s been run by Christian Slater’s character, so that creates a new power struggle.
It’s all part of a change in direction for the series as it prepares to come back for a second season. Other changes include a reduction in the “mission of the week” format in favor of a transition to a more office-based comedy, according to Deadline.
In August, Fox announced it was un-canceling the sitcom, which received a surprise order for 13 new episodes slated for midseason. Production is scheduled to being in January.
The show about a firm that breaks into security systems also stars Bret Harrison, Michael Rosenbaum and Odette Annable.
