Beginning on Nov. 30 at 10/9c, “The Soup” will have a new home on Wednesday nights.
After airing on Fridays for the past several seasons, the change is intended to garner more viewers for the Joel McHale-hosted E! network clip show, which will go up against Comedy Central heavy-hitter – and likely main audience share competitor – “South Park” in the same timeslot.
Additionally, E! will launch a standalone “Soup” website (thesouptv.com) and new mobile apps for iPhone and Android users.
The “Soup” swap is part of a larger programming initiative from the cable network, which will also include the premieres of “Kourtney & Kim Take New York” (Sunday, Nov. 27, 10/9c), Chelsea Handler’s “After Lately” (Sunday, Nov. 27, 11/10c) and new modelling competition docu-series, “Scouted” (Monday, Nov. 28, ) that same week.
