As if touring, humanitarian causes and singing weren’t enough to keep her busy, Mandy Moore is now heading to the small screen. Last season we saw her in a recurring role in “Grey’s Anatomy,” now the actress/singer will take the lead role in a new half-hour comedy in the works for ABC next fall. According to Deadline.com, she will play Annie, one half of a newlywed couple adjusting to life with her newly-expanded family. Moore quickly confirmed the news on Twitter.

This marks the first regular TV gig for Moore, but she’s been seen on a bevy of series, including “How I Met Your Mother,” “Scrubs,” and “Entourage,” in addition to “Grey’s Anatomy.” Of course, her work as Rapunzel on “Tangled” earned her an Oscar nomination for the song “I See the Light.”

Acting isn’t the only job Moore is adding to her resume. She is currently the spokeswoman for global humanitarian efforts such as clean water and fighting malaria, and is touring on behalf of those causes to raise awareness. In addition, hubby Ryan Adams just released his new album Ashes & Fire, with songs backed by Moore.
