Hot on the heels of giving David E. Kelley’s “Harry’s Law” a vote of confidence by issuing an additional script order, NBC is granting the same for “Prime Suspect.”

The network has ordered six more scripts for the Maria Bello crime procedural, says EW.

The series has been a surprising disappointment so far this fall, but the fact that NBC is giving it a chance to grow shows they have faith in it. “Prime Suspect” was generally considered one of the more solid drama pilots of this TV season, but it hasn’t collared huge ratings so far in its Thursdays at 10/9c time slot. Last week, the remake of the British series got a 1.5 rating in the adults 18-49 and averaged 4.9 million viewers.

Here’s one suggestion for not repelling viewers: Lose that awful hat, Jane Timoney!
