Could “Dexter” be DOA?

The hit Showtime drama is amidst negotiations between the network and its star Michael C. Hall — and talks have broken down, according to Deadline.

The two sides have come to a standstill after being unable to bridge a $4 million gap between the offer and the demand. Hall’s team is allegedly asking for $24 million for two more seasons, and Showtime is offering $20 million for another two seasons. Either way, that would make Hall one of the highest-paid actors on cable, says Deadline.

Sources say the network is hopeful a deal can be reached, but it still throws the future of a seventh season into doubt.

“Dexter” returned this past Sunday night with its sixth-season premiere, which was up 24% from last season with 2.2 million viewers.
