Here’s a formula that Walt White, “Breaking Bad’s” genius chemist can appreciate: the juiciness of the episode is inversely proportional to the lameness of the preview. Last week’s episode, “Salud,” was genius. Gus (Giancarlo Esposito) killed the head of the Mexican drug cartel with poisoned tequila after drinking a glass of it himself. It ended with Jesse (Aaron Paul) driving the getaway car with an ill, possibly dying Gus in the back seat. The preview of this week’s episode, “Crawl Space,” features Skyler (Anna Gunn) listening to an answering machine message.
Yes, Ted (Christopher Cousins), has decided not to pay off the IRS with the money that she gave him, a plot point that was established last week. Yawn. If this is the dull promo clip that AMC is releasing, then “Crawl Space” is going to be spectacular. Will Gus live? Will the newly bad ass Jesse complete his transformation into the Alpha dog? How will Walt worm his way back into Jesse’s life? Will next week’s preview clip just be a test pattern? Tune in Sunday and find out.
