Fairytales are magical again! This fall we have two fairytaled-themed series debuting – NBC’s “Grimm” and ABC’s “Once Upon a Time.”

Now comes word that The CW is remaking “Beauty and the Beast” for 2012 with CBS TV Studios, according to TVLine. The project is a modernized version of the classic love story that will also feature – what else these days – a procedural twist.

And they aren’t the only ones.

It was reported last Friday that “Jericho” writer Jonathan E. Steinberg was developing a new version of the exact same fairytale at ABC, a one-hour fantasy drama that’s described as an “epic re-imagining” of “Beauty and the Beast,” according to EW.

The original TV series, which starred Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman, ran on CBS from 1987 to 1990.

Who knew we needed another “Beauty and the Beast” remake…let alone two??? Oh, Hollywood…
