Nate Archibald has found himself another cougar. In this promo for the September 26 season premiere of “Gossip Girl,” supermodel and actress Elizabeth Hurley is the latest older woman to hop into bed with Nate. After years of dealing with Blair and Serena’s drama, as well as the horror that was Vanessa’s continued existence, it’s understandable why he would find maturity attractive. Hurley’s character invites Nate to destroy the master bedroom, so perhaps her character is a furniture designer who has figured out a fun way to create a market for her products. Then again, given that this is “Gossip Girl,” she may turn out to be his new stepmother.

It turns out that Nate (Chace Crawford), Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Serena (Blake Lively) have spent their summer in Hollywood. How will L.A. compare to the show’s past summer sojourns in the Hamptons (awesome!) and Paris (beautiful but ultimately disappointing)? Based on the footage seen here, the Upper Eastsiders are impersonating the “Entourage” crew. Chuck jumps off a roof — but don’t worry, he’s not in Dark Prince mode, just exploring a potential new career, and possibly earning his SAG card. Serena… looks pretty. Seriously, this promo is just like “Entourage” in that the women are standing around doing nothing.

Blair (Leighton Meester), presumably still engaged to her Belgian prince, appears to be back in New York, away from the action. She phones Serena to inform her, “Los Angeles is a plastic surgery layover, not somewhere you live. Everyone has dinner at 6.” Apparently, the last time Blair came to California, she stayed in a retirement home. As for Dan, he apparently spent the summer pondering an invitation.

Will Chuck become a film mogul? Will Nate ever get tired of being a boy toy? Will Blair actually get married? Will this be the season that “Gossip Girl” figures out how to make post-high school life interesting? Tune in on Monday, Sept. 26 at 8/7c and find out, XOXO.
