‘Mac Guy’ Justin Long Joins Zooey Deschanel in ‘New Girl’

An adorkable love interest has been cast opposite the adorkable Zooey Deschanel. “He’s Just Not That Into You” star and onetime “Mac Guy,” Justin Long, has been cast in a three-episode arc on Fox’s upcoming comedy, “New Girl.”

The sitcom stars Deschanel as Jess, an offbeat 20-something who moves into an apartment with three guys after a bad breakup.

According to Deadline, Long will play Paul, a music teacher and Jess’ potential beau. Paul will first appear in the show’s Nov. 6 episode.

“New Girl” stars  Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield and Lamorne Morris as Jess’ roommates. The series comes from writer/executive producer Liz Meriwether.

Long’s notable TV credits include a breakout role on “Ed” and a 2006 episode of “That 70s Show.”

“New Girl” premieres Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 9/8c on Fox.
