Marysol Castro has exited “The Early Show.” The weather anchor’s final report was Friday.

According to TVNewser, Castro will remain with CBS news for the time being, though in what capacity is still to be determined. Local network affiliates are expected to handle upcoming weather forecasts during the weekday broadcasts.

This is just one more shakeup in the changing direction of the third-place morning show. In January, Castro joined “The Early Show” as part of a complete anchor team facelift. The overhaul continued when executive producer David Friedman left the program in May, and more of an emphasis was placed on serious news under the leadership of Jeff Fager and David Rhodes.

Prior to “The Early Show,” Castro covered the weather on the weekend edition of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
