Though ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” is family friendly, and its audience apparently on the traditional side, the thought did cross producers’ minds to have the first same-sex partnership for Season 13.

“Dancing” executive producer Conrad Green told E! that they considered partnering openly gay contestant Carson Kressley (“Queer Eye for the Straight Guy”) with a male dance partner.

“We thought about it,” Green told E! Instead, Kressley was partnered with Anna Trebunskaya. Why? “We try to follow what happens in real ballroom competitions,” Green added.

For now, Israel remains the only country to have had a same-sex couple on their version of “Dancing with the Stars.”
