Look who just blue onto “Modern Family.”
The one and only Tobias Funke, aka David Cross, has booked a recurring role on the hit ABC sitcom.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former “Arrested Development” star will play a city councilman named Duane in the comedy’s upcoming third season. Although Cross’s character will reportedly go head-to-head with Julie Bowen‘s Claire, let’s hope for a Phil (Ty Burrell)-Duane smackdown – because depriving the world of a scene between those two would be crueler than a case of Graft versus Host.
Cross currently stars in the IFC series “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret,” which returns for a second season in October.
Season 3 of “Modern Family” premieres Wednesday, Sept. 21 on ABC.
