A&E has bagged a high-profile project: The network has picked up the Stephen King miniseries “Bag of Bones.”
Pierce Brosnan will star in the four-hour miniseries, playing a man named Mike Noonan who’s still mourning his late wife after she died suddenly. Annabeth Gish costars as the wife in the project, which is based King’s best-selling novel. Jason Priestley has also been added to the cast playing Brosnan’s literary agent, according to EW.
In the plot, Noonan returns to the couple’s lakeside retreat in Maine only to find himself embroiled in a custody battle between a young widow and a wealthy grandparent – and begins having haunting nightmares about his dead wife.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the miniseries is filming in Nova Scotia, Canada. “Bag of Bones” will air on A&E over two nights in late 2011.
