Through its varied reality programming line-up including toddler beauty queens, Kate Gosselin, and gypsy brides, TLC has shown that no life is off limits. Now, neither is the afterlife.

The network has picked up “Long Island Medium,” a new reality series that follows popular Long Island-based psychic medium Theresa Caputo as she communicates with the dead.

According to a press release, Caputo is unable to turn off “her gift.” Apparently this results in some fairly awkward situations for the married mother of two when members of the spirit world attempt to make contact when she’s out grocery shopping or getting a manicure.

Each of the show’s eight episodes will focus on Caputo as she conducts private and group readings, and goes about her day – which often involves offering spontaneous messages from the beyond to complete strangers.

“Long Island Medium” will debut Sunday, Sept. 25 at 10/9c on TLC.
