Phew, the speculation is over, America … (now it’s time to start the griping).
Because we’ve got the official lineup for the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars“!
“DWTS” co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet revealed the new celebrity cast for Season 13 live during ABC’s telecast of “Bachelor Pad” Monday night, and the usual menagerie of actors, singers, athletes and reality stars were represented, along with a twist or two (unless you read this earlier today).
Here are the 12 contestants competing on this season of “DWTS”:
Ricki Lake, talk-show host
Ron Artest, NBA player, the LA Lakers
Kristin Cavallari (”The Hills”)
David Arquette, actor
Chynna Phillips, lead singer of Wilson Phillips
Carson Kressley, fashion guru
Nancy Grace, former prosecutor-turned-crime commentator
Chaz Bono, activist and transgender son of Cher and the late Sonny Bono
Rob Kardashian (”Keeping Up with the Kardashians”)
Elisabetta Canalis (International model/actress and George Clooney’s ex)
J.R. Martinez, an Iraq War veteran, motivational speaker and actor on ABC’s “All My Children”
Hope Solo, female professional soccer player
As for the returning pros, look for Derek Hough, Mark Ballas, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Kym Johnson, Cheryl Burke, Karina Smirnoff, Lacey Schwimmer and Anna Trebunskaya to be among the teachers whipping these stars into salsa-ready shape.
The dancer-pro pairings will be revealed Wednesday on “Good Morning America.”
Season 13 of “Dancing with the Stars” premieres Monday, Sept. 19 on ABC. The first elimination is set for Tuesday, Sept. 20.
