In an interview with Deadline, Tina Fey admits Tracy Morgan’s recent headline-making homophobic rant might become a storyline on “30 Rock.” “It’s the kind of story that even if it happened to someone else, we would probably turn it into a Tracy story,” Fey said. “So we may use it.” In June, Morgan came under scrutiny for anti-gay comments (“I’ll kill my son if he acts gay”) made during a stand-up performance in Nashville. He later apologized. On a related and somewhat confusing note, Fey said that by the time the NBC comedy comes back in January (it was bumped to mid-season because of Fey’s pregnancy), she hopes “the world” will have forgotten about Tracy’s misstep. “He from the first has gone around very sincerely and done his best to try to make up for the foolishness,” she said. So this begs the question – will incorporating his real life blunder into a Tracy Jordan storyline help to ease the public’s perception of him, or only serve as a reminder of what happened?
