On Tuesday, Sept. 20, the spandex comes on and the jiggle sloughs off when NBC brings back an all new twelfth season of “The Biggest Loser” (8/7c). Along with veteran host Alison Sweeney and trainer Bob Harper, the show adds two new trainers to take the place of Scream Machine Jillian Michaels—body-sculpting phenom, Dolvett Quince, and former tennis star, Anna Kournikova. (No word on Enrique Iglesias sightings on set.)
For all you NFL fanatics, be sure to check out the Oct. 4th episode that features New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson, and Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow not only sweating it out side-by-side with the contestants but also doing a bit of empathizing.
“It’s not just some great athlete coming out and saying ‘Hey, look at me!’” says “BL” executive producer Todd Lubin via EW. “We actually get to their stories—and these NFL guys have unbelievable stories. Drew had a major debilitating injury, came back and won a Super Bowl, so his message was, ‘Whatever the adversity is, you’ve got to fight through it.’”
Lubin also adds: “It’s a good chance to get the men to watch ‘Biggest Loser’ alongside their wives.”
For this season, the show brings a new twist to the competition with an all out “Battle of the Ages,” in which the 15 contestants will be grouped by age (24-65) to compete for the $250K prize.
