Forbes has released its annual “World’s 100 Most Powerful Women” list. Determined by what the magazine describes as “three metrics: dollars, a traditional and social media component and power base points,” six of this year’s slots are filled by female television personalities. Last year, double that amount ranked. Some of the more notable year-over-year absences are Katie Couric, Chelsea Handler, Rachel Maddow, Heidi Klum, Meredith Vieira, Suze Orman, Rachael Ray and Martha Stewart. Down from last year’s No. 3 spot is OWN CEO Oprah Winfrey, who’s been bumped to No. 14. Ellen DeGeneres also took a dive from last year’s No. 10 spot to No. 55. “This Week” anchor Christiane Amanpour made progress – she jumped 29 spots from No. 73 to No. 44.
