The second half is here – the first of the final four of the eight episodes that comprise this brief final season of “Entourage.”

With the end so near, we’ve begun to wonder what producer Doug Ellin and his team have dreamed up for the finale. Will the four core members of the entourage finally split up, each to their own homes and lives? Or will they remain in their present state of relative immaturity, depending on each other for company in lieu of wives and families?

Truth is, even with the finale so close at hand, the way they’ll end this thing is anybody’s guess. With four episodes left to go – starting with the episode this Sunday night at 10:30/9:30c on HBO – the conclusions to this show’s various storylines are anything but clear.

In fact, the lives of at least two of the show’s principal characters become even more complicated and uncertain in this weekend’s episode – Eric’s (Kevin Connolly) and Ari’s (Jeremy Piven).

Last Week’s Episode Recap: For a Comedy, It’s Become Great Drama

Things to look for in the episode (which we’ve already seen, thanks to HBO):

The return of Andrew Dice Clay: We’re loving his storyline with Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon) more than any other currently under way on this show. We haven’t always been a fan of the Dice Man over the years, but on “Entourage” this season, he steals every scene he’s in.

Melinda Clarke playing herself: Talk about combining fiction and real-life – Clarke’s a real actress (from “The O.C.,” primarily), going by her real name, who on “Entourage” is playing the ex-wife and ex-stepmother of fictional characters.

The charm of Vincent Chase: Watch how Vince (Adrian Grenier) handles an interview with a comely Vanity Fair reporter and you’ll remember why this fictional movie star is always this show’s magnetic center of attention.

Be sure and read our recap of this episode first thing Monday morning.

“Entourage” airs Sunday night at 10:30/9:30c on HBO.
