“The Office” hits another high note with guest casting: The NBC sitcom just landed singer Josh Groban for a guest spot this fall.
The 30-year-old crooner will play the brother of Ed Helms’ character Andy Bernard. The news comes on the heels of the casting of Andy’s parents, who will be played by Stephen Collins and “E.T.’s” Dee Wallace.
Groban confirmed the news on Twitter: “The cast and crew of The Office are the coolest ever. #allimgonnasay.”
This marks Groban’s first major acting gig, although he has appeared on television several times over the years as a performer, including “Ally McBeal,” “The Simpsons” and “Glee,” along with his first film, “Crazy, Stupid, Love” with Steve Carell.
“The Office” returns to NBC on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 9/8c.
