Tina Fey had a baby girl — the second daughter for her and husband Jeffrey Richmond.
The baby, named Penelope Athena Richmond, was born on Wednesday, presumably in New York where the couple lives, although the birth’s location wasn’t reported in the many stories seen on-line on Saturday. Some stories speculated that the baby’s middle name, Athena — the name of a goddess from Greek mythology — was chosen as a reflection of Fey’s Greek-American heritage. Fey is 41, her husband is 50.
Penelope already has a sister, 5-year-old Alice. Of course, this was the pregnancy that delayed production on a new season of “30 Rock” since the series couldn’t really have its over-worked and sex-starved main character, Liz Lemon, be pregnant.
The series is set to return to NBC in midseason — presumably in January — with production resuming this fall.
