Between her Lifetime reality show “Roseanne’s Nuts,” a possible guest-starring role on “Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me Chelsea,” and her potential Presidential bid, Roseanne Barr has been keeping busy. Now comes word that Barr has signed a script deal with 20th Century Fox to write and star in a new half-hour comedy. According to Deadline, the series, titled “Downwardly Mobile,” will focus on an “optimist blue-collar family living in hard times,” similar to the Conner family in Barr’s 90s hit, “Roseanne.”
Barr will co-write “Downwardly Mobile” with her boyfriend Johnny Argent, alongside executive producer Steven Greener, who holds the same title on “Roseanne’s Nuts.” The hunt is currently on to find a showrunner before the project is shopped around to networks.
