‘Bachelor’ Couple Jason and Molly Offer Relationship Advice to J.P. and Ashley

While “Bachelorette” couple J.P. Rosenbaum and Ashley Hebert may be experiencing an Oxycontin overload as a newly engaged item, former “Bachelor” stars turned married couple Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney have some advice to offer them.

“Don’t rush,” says Jason via People. “Just because you met on a TV show and just because you now have a ring on your finger doesn’t mean you have to get married in three months. Maybe it’s a year. Maybe it’s two years. Just make sure the relationship works the way you want it to.”

Adds Molly: “Focus only on each other. Do not let the media guide your life. We’re both grateful we were on the show when we were because [the media attention] is a lot worse now,” she elaborates. “The show is on the covers of magazines every single week, and it’s lies after lies after lies just to sell these magazines. Focus on each other. That’s what’s important.”

The couple knows a thing or two about what they preach. In 2009 Jason was seared by the media and public for breaking off his engagement with Melissa Rycroft to pursue a relationship with Molly. Aside from agreeing to a much rained-on televised wedding event, the controversial lovebirds have made concerted efforts to avoid the public eye and lead normal lives in Seattle, where they currently reside.
