Although no official word has come from Oxygen yet, “The Glee Project” executive producer Michael Davies is confident the reality competition series will return for a second season.

“Talks have begun [for another season],” Davies revealed Tuesday during the show’s session at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Beverly Hills. “We’re planning and figuring out how we’re going to do the casting process.”

Davies said he’s thrilled with the show’s growth in its first season, noting that much of its success can be attributed to a young, passionate online fanbase and overwhelming encouragement from Oxygen.  “I’m working with a network who is so supportive,” he said. “[A second season] is certainly in my plans for next year.”

“The Glee Project” airs Sundays at 9/8c on Oxygen.
