You have to love Adam Levine‘s career trajectory: Maroon 5 frontman, coach on “The Voice,” and now prime time sitcom executive producer. Levine has sold a scripted comedy series set in a karaoke bar to NBC. According to Deadline.com, the ensemble show “is said to organically blend comedy with a musical element.” Levine’s pal, writer-actor Gene Hong (his credits include “The Goode Family”) wrote the project and Jake Kasden, most recently of “Bad Teacher,” has signed on to direct. Don’t expect to see Christina Aguilera guest star, but hey, “Voice” winner Javier Colon could play a sensitive guy with a great voice (watch a mashup of his best moments below) and Beverly McClellan would be a great character – not that she isn’t already one.
