Can Mrs. Ari find happiness with a top chef?
That’s the question for her, for her estranged husband, and for “Entourage” fans who learned last night who Mrs. Ari (Perrey Reeves) is dating.
SPOILER ALERT: If you haven’t yet seen Sunday night’s episode of “Entourage” and plan on doing so, then we suggest you close this story and move on to the next one.
For everyone else: Mrs. Ari’s new flame is none other than Bobby Flay – Iron Chef, restaurant gazillionaire and the idol of foodies everywhere (especially females). He’s formidable competition for Ari (Jeremy Piven), who reacted in his usual way by blowing his stack and declaring war on the restaurateur.
It was the second time in the 30-minute episode that Ari sought someone’s ruination. The first was a waiter at Flay’s restaurant who Ari wrongly concluded was dating his wife. Ari had the waiter – who is also a struggling actor – banned from the set of “Mad Men,” where he had landed a very hard-to-get audition.
Elsewhere in the episode – the second of only eight produced for this abbreviated final season of “Entourage”:
The client: Lloyd (Rex Lee) angled to bring Steve Levitan, showrunner on “Modern Family,” into the agency as a new client. It should be noted: Neither Levitan nor Flay actually appeared in the episode.
But two other stars did appear: Christian Slater and Andrew Dice Clay. The Dice Man is apparently in for multiple episodes, the first of which was last night. He’s a formidable presence who stole every scene he was in – which wasn’t easy because his storyline has him primarily playing off of Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon), with whom he’s working on an animated series. The cartoon – about two orangutan brothers voiced by Dice and Drama – hadn’t even aired yet and Dice, who hasn’t worked in years, is already threatening to quit over his salary. Meanwhile, Slater flipped Drama double birds (that’s both middle fingers) when they ran into each other – a “greeting” that mystified Drama.
E (Kevin Connolly) and Sloan (Emmanuelle Chriqui) got back together for a daytime sex romp. Nevertheless, they seem to be over, mainly because she’s planning a move to New York, a decision she disclosed last night.
Oh, and Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) seems to be getting the brushoff from his girlfriend. Yawn.
Next week: More Dice Man, and Vince (Adrian Grenier) – remember him? – tries to help a fellow addict.
New episodes of “Entourage” air at 10:30/9:30c Sundays on HBO.
