Not a bad week for the middle of the summer. Of course, the summer TV season is not nearly as dull and lifeless than it once was, so we had little difficulty coming up with five great moments in television from the week that just was.

Here’s what we came up with:

1) “America’s Got Talent”? You bet it does — Sharon Osbourne said so herself on the NBC talent series right after she witnessed Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. of West Virginia singing “Fly Me to the Moon” like he was Frank Sinatra reincarnated.

2) If this wasn’t priceless, we don’t what is: Harrison Ford chewing out Chewbacca on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and declaring: “I’m done with that ‘Star Wars’ crap and I’m done with you!”

3) A “Jewel” of a finale: Gene Simmons’ marriage proposal to long-time love Shannon Tweed scored record ratings for the Kiss frontman’s A&E reality series “Family Jewels.”

4) “Deadliest Catch” reels ‘em in: More than 3.25 million watched the season finale of what might be the finest reality series on TV. As the season came to a close, the formerly crabby crew of the Cornelia Marie celebrated as the boat’s storage compartment filled up with fresh-caught crab.

5) Burnin’ down the house: Vince (Adrian Grenier) came home from rehab, Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) burned down the house, and Ari (Jeremy Piven) learned his estranged wife is dating someone else. It all happened on the final-season premiere of “Entourage” on HBO — the first of only eight episodes until this legendary series says good-bye.
