For anyone who’s ever had an epic layover and not known what to do with the down time, Travel Channel has a new show for you. Conveniently titled “The Layover,” the 10-episode, hour-long weekly series gives host Anthony Bourdain 24-48 hours to offer viewers the essential “must-see” places in cities throughout the U.S., Asia, and Europe.

As the press release details, “viewers will be treated to a ringside seat as Bourdain quickly gathers local intel, faces the enemy of time and distance, gets off the tired old tourist path and tries something new, all within a matter of hours.”

“This is a chance to show viewers the secrets of Tony’s traveling routine: cracking open the essence of each city, getting right to the marrow of every experience, and making the most out of every moment,” said Fred Graver, SVP, Programming & Development, Travel Channel.  “These shows are not only about finding the best of every city, but they’re filled with amazing tips and tricks for where to go, where to stay, where to eat, and how to get around — as only Tony can share them.”

Bourdain’s other Travel Channel series, “No Reservations,” recently earned four Primetime Emmy nominations. “The Layover” is scheduled to premiere later this fall.
